Jewelry making class?

I'm thinking about teaching a jewelry making class, anybody interested?

~Learn how to make bracelets & necklaces, including how to use crimp beads to attach your clasp.

~Learn to make earrings & pendants (simple wire wrapping).

Your class registration fee (which has yet to be figured out) would include all the necessary tools, jewelry stringing wire and/or headpins (your choice) for making earrings & pendants, and crimp beads.

All of my beads would be available for use, you would just pay for whatever you use.

So who's in?

Just got back from the Gem Faire

Wish I had more money to spend, but my jewelry sales have been gradually decreasing over the last two years. I don't know if it's due to the economy, or if people just don't like me/my jewelry. (In my twisted mind, me & my jewelry are one in the same). Anyway, my dear friend Lisa agreed to hold my hand as we navigated ourselves through the craziness of the Gem Faire. She's great, she brings almonds, she helps me remember what beads I'm looking for, and best of all, she keeps my budget on track. That part wasn't hard this time because my budget consisted of a few nickels and dimes.

But in spite of my measly budget, we did come back with a few fun things including some turquoise, rhodocrosite, jade, and some really fun shell chips in bright colors. I'm glad to say that I feel a little more motivated to make some new things now that I have some new beads to work with.

More good news...I've decided to permanently extend my Bead Sale that I posted about below! Just let me know when you want to come over and pick out some beads. Also, I'm thinking about teaching jewelry making classes. Let me know if that is something you are interested in.

Has anyone seen my motivation?

It's missing...I want to look in every corner, under every stack of paper, under the piles of beads on my table...but I'm not motivated enough to look for my motivation! I don't know what happened to it, but my motivation is missing! Come to think of it, I can't remember the last time I've seen it. My motivation must have skipped town...maybe it's on an incredible vacation at a spa resort on the beach somewhere. An EXTENDED vacation. That's got to be it.

Well, whether I've found my motivation or not, this summer I've decided to do the Eden Farmer's Market. It is every Saturday from 9-1 at the Old Town Eden square (by Harley & Buck's restaurant). Come see me! I'll be there most every weekend, other than a few where I'll be other places (I'll post where to find me here on my blog), and one or two weekends when we'll be camping or doing other fun family stuff. We could turn this into a "Where's Waldo" game of sorts. Except it will be called "Where's Jennifer" and you'll get to drive all over Weber County and Brigham City to find me. You should get a prize for tracking me down in different locations...any ideas on what the prize should be? The funny thing is, I am writing this as if I have hundreds of followers, but as you can see on the left of the screen, I have ONE follower. My cute friend Shauna. Other than her and a handful of others, does anyone else even read this? Or care where to find me this summer? Don't get me wrong, I have a few followers/customers/stalkers that I know by name from them buying my jewelry; I just don't think any of them read this blog. Oh well... with or without motivation, it's time to get to work!

I have to brag...

I have the best friend ever! Last week, Melanie read my last post and being the awesome friend that she is, she came over (and dared to step into the war-zone of our house) to help me get ready for the boutique. One hour before the boutique opened, I realized that my 3 big crates full of beads wouldn't fit in our little red Audi...Melanie to the rescue again! We loaded everything into her van and rushed over to the boutique. After we got the beads organized, we started tying tags onto the bracelets and pricing them. It was at this point that the boutique opened to the public. It's almost like the running of the bulls when they open the doors. Dozens of crazy ladies race through the isles looking for "the" thing to buy, and it is a race to get to that "thing" before anyone else does. I've seen ladies practically running down the isles! Once they run through the show, they go back and take their time looking in every single booth.
So here we are, Melanie and I, working as fast as we can to get jewelry tagged, priced and out, and there are crowds of women in my booth. Melanie was answering questions and helping however she could. She ended up staying and helping me for 2 HOURS! What a blessing she is to me!

And then...on Friday night as I got home from the boutique, here comes Melanie, walking across the street with a big basket in her arms. She had made us a travel basket for our drive to California! I am amazed at her thoughtfulness! The basket included a few magazines, puzzle books for the girls, pencils, lots of different snacks, baby wipes and hand sanitizer, tissues, bottled water and even washable markers made for writing on glass! It's been killing the girls to stay out of the basket until we leave! We did try out the markers on the sliding glass door though...I started it, I couldn't help it! Chris still isn't sure about letting the girls write on the windows of his truck though. We'll see if we can talk him into it.

Thank you, Melanie, from the bottom of our hearts! You are the best friend ever!
